Reviews for My World:

While researching preschool/kindergarten science curriculum on YouTube, I stumbled upon a review for Our Time To Learn workbooks. I was very intrigued, as it looked like something that would work for my preschooler. We decided to take a plunge last year, and purchase the "My World" workbook, and I am so glad we did. Personally, as a very visual person, I was very happy to have a supplies list laid out for me in the beginning of the workbook as a list, that clearly showed photos of items I needed for the year. Almost all of the items I already had in the house, which is a definite plus for a busy, on-the-go mom. I felt that the discussion questions were perfectly suited for my son...Suggested books were easily available at my local library and were a great hit not only with my preschooler, but with my 3rd grader too, who by the way joined us for many activities, and thoroughly enjoyed them. We loved the step-by-step illustrations for each project, which made it easy for my son to follow instructions. In fact, a lesson on forces got both of my boys so excited, that we ended up spending a whole day on just forces and motion... We all had a great time, and on few occasions my sons asked to do science. A win!

I have a 9 year old with special needs. We used My World in our homeschool last year. I loved the resource list that accompanied the curriculum. We were never without a pertinent book to go along with the theme. Our library had all the suggested titles. We would spend Monday doing a K-W-L chart filling in what he knew about the topic, and what he wanted to learn about it. We would then read the booklist in the early part of the week, then we would do the suggested lessons, crafts, and activities. I loved how Allison compiled the craft supplies on one sheet so I knew what to gather for the year. She also added pictures, so my son was able to look at the lesson number and know what he would need to complete his activity. I found that a lot of the topics presented in this book overlapped with daily life skills we are hoping for our boy to master, such as sequencing and observing weather. All and all, My World was an enjoyable, educational resource and we look forward to more from Our Time To Learn.
